TRIP #1 WILDLIFE EXTRAVAGANZA
JUNE 14-18 (5 days on the trail) *FILLED*
This trip travels to our base camp in the heart of the Sun River Valley, along Biggs Creek. The valley is unique for its expansive meadows rimmed by snow capped peaks in the summer range of elk, deer & bighorn sheep. Base camp features deluxe wall tents with cots and large cook tent. Designed to maximize opportunity for wildlife watching with emphasis on scenic day rides, fishing and hiking.
TRIP #2 RANCH/PACK-TRIP COMBO
JULY 5-10 (5 days between Ranch and Backcountry) *FILLED*
This trip begins at the Ranch and then departs for the Bob Marshall to explore the stunning Sun River Valley area, camping along Glenn Creek inside the Sun River Game Preserve (no hunting area). Day rides in this wildlife area may view elk, deer, bighorn sheep or more. Fantastic trout fishing on the river and excellent riding and hiking opportunities. Return to a steak dinner at the Ranch on Friday with stories to tell!
TRIP #3: RANCH/PACK-TRIP COMBO
JULY 11-17 (6 days between Ranch and Backcountry) *FILLED*
Spend the first 3 nights at the Ranch enjoying the diverse trails and activities before heading to the wilderness midweek for a 2 night camping adventure in the Sun River Valley. Camping by the river, we’ll explore “Elk Hill” and the surrounding country. Great trout fishing and hiking. Return to the Ranch on Friday to celebrate with a steak dinner. Perfect for those who want to enjoy the best of both the Ranch and the Backcounty.
TRIP #4: CHINESE WALL / MOOSE CREEK TRIP
JULY 29 - AUGUST 4 (7 days on the trail) *FILLED*
Travelling into the Sun River Valley area, this trip then climbs to the famous Chinese Wall, a majestic and rugged 12 mile section of the Continental Divide. With camps at both the mouth and head of Moose Creek, we'll ride beneath the splendor of this spectacular rock formation. Fishing, hiking and riding opportunities abound.
TRIP #5: BIGGS CREEK PLATEAU
AUGUST 13-18 (6 days on the trail) *FILLED*
Our camp at Biggs Creek Plateau is 360 degrees of the finest wilderness country anywhere. This trip highlights scenic day rides to Beartop Lookout and Gates Park. Return over Elk Hill. Warm days offer great riding options, fantastic fishing and hiking opportunities.
NEW TRIP JUST ADDED! AUGUST 23-27 (5 days on the trail) - limited space left
NORTH FORK OF THE SUN: This trip travels into the North Fork of the Sun River Valley and has impressive views of surrounding peaks, including the Chinese Wall. Layover days include a ride and then hike to the Beartop Fire Lookout, which is 8500 feet in elevation and is straight across from the Continental Divide as well as other rugged peaks of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. We'll have 2 different campsites along the river and ride back to the ranch a different way over Cabin Creek Pass. Wildlife watching and fishing opportunities.
TRIP #6: CHINESE WALL LOOP
SEPTEMBER 5-11 (7 days on the trail)
The Sun River elk herd is over 2000 in number, and in September the fall rutting season is in full swing. We head West to the Continental Divide, allowing us to see first had elk herd dynamics and other high country wildlife with the backdrop of the Chinese Wall. Layover days are filled with fishing, hiking, interpretive day rides or relaxing in a peaceful wilderness setting.
